• First, CARISMA will improve the cross-border cooperation regarding the management of water resources. The installation of stations to monitor the quality and the flow of water will allow the transmission, in real time, of data on the status of the rivers on both sides of the border, which will create a cross-border database on the status of both rivers.
• Secondly, the installation of wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) will be jointly carried out to eliminate all sources of pollution resulting from population influence and to maintain the ecological quality of both rivers.

In addition:

• It will improve accessibility to the banks of both rivers, giving continuity to the riverside border area while also providing access to the trails.
• Likewise, it will promote the environmental dissemination, and will boost ecotourism, making the river natural reserve a lure for visitors.
